Lesson Pathways: Free Homeschool Curriculum

Are you homeschooling on a budget? New to homeschooling without a clue where to begin? Lesson Pathways may just be the homeschool resource you need to get your school at home adventure started. Did I mention that it’s free? Lesson Pathways is full of engaging lessons covering every elementary school subject. I found Language Arts the most intruiging of the courses offered. The Lesson Pathways Language Arts program is based on reading various story books or novels (depending on grade level) and incorporating writing, spelling and phonics. This gives the student an all in one experience that, in my opinion, enhances the learning process. Most of the story books or novels are classics and after you read through the lesson plans you may begin wondering why most elementary schools do not use this approach to teach Language Arts.  Through sources like Youtube, and various educational websites this site can be used as a thorough way to jumpstart your lesson plans and find free or very cheap materials to offer your child a quality education.

Here’s the rundown on how to sign up for Lesson Pathways and get started using their site.

First click on the grey sign up button inside of the green homeschool box. Doing so will take you to the homeschool sign up page.

On the next screen you can enter information in the form at the right side of the screen to sign up or login using your Facebook account. Simple as pie.

From this screen you can choose to browse and select pathways, manage students and customize your planner. For now click on manage students.  On the next screen click the add student. After you have successfully added a student you can begin to browse pathways. Pathways are lessons plans that correspond to various topics covered per grade level. If you like a group of pathways (guided journeys) you can add an entire guided journey to your planner. Once clicked Lesson Pathways allows you to choose which student you would like to assign this guided journey. The same goes for the pathways. If you see a pathway you like, click the add to planner button, choose your student and you’re set. If you don’t like the order of pathways in your lesson planner do not fret, they can be moved around by simply dragging and clicking.

Below are a couple of videos to further explain Lesson Pathways and how to use the website. If you are thinking about homeschooling and the thought of putting together a curriculum is scaring you away or you think it just costs to much money I strongly encourage you to give Lesson Pathways a try.

About 2aprilkids

Hi, I'm April Momma. I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 awesome kids and like all moms I wear multiple hats. Most days I'd like to think I wear all of them well at all times but that's a joke. I get by the best I can and that's the truth. Aside from being a mother I am a wife, pretty good cook, good intermediate seamstress, musician, music lover and blogger.
